New Tab Widgets v1.15 – Google Drive, Bookmarks, Background Syncing & Web App
New Tab Widgets v1.15 adds a Google Drive widget, a Bookmarks widget, multi Gmail account management, background image sync, and a new web app version.
New Tab Widgets v1.15 brings more of your everyday browser work directly onto your dashboard. The new Google Drive widget lets you search, open, upload, download, move, rename, and trash Drive files. The new Bookmarks widget gives you fast access to saved browser bookmarks. Gmail also gets better multi-account handling, background images now sync across devices for Pro users unless they were uploaded locally, and the new web app version makes your dashboard easier to reach when you're on the go or away from your desktop.
Google Drive Widget
The new Google Drive widget brings Drive files directly onto your new tab dashboard. Search your Drive, open matching files, or keep a small file list visible beside the rest of your workspace.

File actions
Google Drive files include an actions menu for common tasks:
- Download supported files
- Move files into another folder
- Rename files
- Move to trash
Google Workspace files are exported in practical formats where available, so Docs, Sheets, Slides, and other Google-native files can still be downloaded from the widget.
Google Drive is available as a Pro widget.
Bookmarks Widget
The new Bookmarks widget lets you search saved browser bookmarks from your new tab page.
When the search box is empty, it shows recently added bookmarks. When you type, it searches your saved bookmark collection and keeps matching links close at hand. Pressing enter opens the first matching bookmark, making it useful as a quick launcher for links you already saved.
The Bookmarks widget uses the browser bookmarks permission and is available in the extension version of New Tab Widgets.
Gmail — Better Account Management
The Gmail widget now works better for people who use more than one Google account.
What's new
- Connect multiple Gmail accounts
- Pick the Gmail account used by each widget
- Connect another account directly from widget settings
- Remove saved Gmail accounts from settings
Gmail links now open with the selected account context, so a message from your work inbox should open in the right Gmail account instead of whichever account your browser happened to use first.
Background Image Sync
Background image choices now sync across devices for Pro users, so your dashboard can keep the same look when you move between computers or open the web app.
The exception is locally uploaded background images. Those images stay on the device where they were added, so choose a built-in or searched background if you want the image to follow you everywhere.
Web App Version
New Tab Widgets now has a web app version for opening your dashboard outside the browser extension.
It's useful when you're on the go, using a shared or temporary device, or just need access to your dashboard when you're not on your usual computer or desktop browser.
Open the New Tab Widgets web app
The web app does not replace everything the extension can do. Features that rely on browser extension APIs are still extension-only, including the Bookmarks, Recently Visited, Top Websites, CPU, and Memory/RAM widgets.
Upgrade now
The Bookmarks widget is available in the extension. Google Drive and Gmail are Pro widgets. Pro also unlocks unlimited widgets, pages, cloud sync, premium widgets like Calendar, RSS, and Spotify, plus full design control with custom CSS.
